Classes?!

So most people are used to a traditional summer spent bbqing, working ungodly hours at a golf course and just generally kicking back. Not so fast mr. salmon polo shirt and cut off jeans! Its actually winter down here in Dunners so that actually translates to the start of the second semester. For only the second or third time I was actually ready and excited to start classes, I think it had something to do with all the girls that I had been seeing around campus and town. None the less it was kind of rough waking up at the crack of dawn (10) and making the 5 minute trek to my first class. Ive got a different class load too so its just kind of exciting at all levels. First I start with understanding contemporary media then I saunter over to Sociology: understandings of the self ( who better to understand!). That about wraps up my Monday and then I do what every other student in Dunedin does make a grilled cheese sandwich! Once I scare that little girl out of the kitchen I might pop on the telly and see what frivolous thing the Kiwis deem news worthy that day. Their news does seem to be much more light hearted than ours but Ive long thought that American news programs gravitate far too much towards tragedy and 300 pound little Bobby and his struggle to make friends at school.
Here we see Bobby on a boat

Sadly enough I think that there is an American that I already know in everyone of my classes. I was hoping to be thrown to the Kiwi wolves but instead Ive sat next to Dave and chatted effortlessly with James.

Its all good though because the kiwis are very friendly and out going. The girls literally hit on the guys here which is refreshing to say the least.

Im writing this sitting in the library because the wifi at my flat decided to crap the bed at the least awesome moment just as I needed to find out where my classes were Sunday night. Sweet as!

My Tuesday doesnt starting until I crawl out of my blanket cave and make some meat pies and then head to Maori culture with 450 other heads. Hot dang. The class room does make for some great people watching and Ive already thought of a few good ideas for things to thrown across the expansive class room. Im sure that if Kip was there he would make it his personal goal to breakwind in front of the 450 unsuspecting patrons.
To each their own.
Well its time for me to stop streaming data
Cheers,
Matt
